Second volume of Griffin’s ongoing biography, tracing Hemingway’s Paris years, 1921-1927. Drawing on Hadley’s correspondence, interviews with survivors, A Moveable Feast, and other published and unpublished works, Griffin’s goal is narrative recreation of the author’s life rather than straightforward biographical analysis. Such an approach allows Griffin the leeway to imaginatively create scenes, often based on the author’s works of fiction. Follows Griffin’s Along with Youth: Hemingway, the Early Years (1985)
