Hospitalized patients have an increased risk of disrupted, less than restful sleep.The detrimental impact of unrestful sleep can greatly affect a patient\u27s health and overall recovery. Weighted blankets are a form of deep pressure therapy that have been shown to decrease anxiety and improve the quality of sleep. Because the concept of a weighted blanket is relatively new and the benefit is not well known, conducting research on the use and effects in college students may contribute to the limited research that already exists. Through this study, results may be able to offer implications for the clinical setting as an alternative and supplemental intervention to improve the quality of sleep for those admitted in the hospital.
