Konspirative Wohnungen //Conspiracy Dwellings was initiated by the British artist Pam Skelton and the German scholar Joachim Heinrich and explores the legacy of state surveillance in the former German Democratic Republic. Bringing together local and international artists, academics and curators, the project presented a network of almost 500 secret apartments and institutions in Erfurt from which the former East German Ministry of State Security (Stasi) operated between 1980 and 1989, when surveillance was at its fiercest.
