The article provides an overview about Cloud computing; a technology which is rapidly growing and spreading into our lives and will have significant consequences in the future. This is also the case whith GIS technolgy, where a number of decisions still have to be made about which services can be provided to the users, in addition to online basemaps (vector and raster).
