A device (1) for generating drops, in particular under microgravity or no-gravity conditions, comprises a guide (2), a carriage (3) movable back and forth along the guide (2), a needle (4) carried integrally by the carriage (3) and having a tip (16) through which drops of a liquid contained in the needle (4) are emitted, and a movement system (6) to move the carriage (3) along the guide (2) so as to alternately assign controlled accelerations and decelerations to the carriage (3) and generate an inertial force that causes the single drops to be released from the needle (4).
