This edition examines benefit-sharing agreements between oil companies and indigenous communities in the Russian North. Firstly, Maria Tysiachniouk lays out four different types of benefit-sharing arrangements, pointing to the paternalism model in Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the corporate social responsibility model (CSR) in Khanti-Mansiiski Autonomous Okrug and the partnership model in Sakhalin Island.
