This paper aims at analyzing the importance of the Southern Atlantic region in South Africa’s post-apartheid foreign policy and raises the hypothesis that the increase of South Africa’s interest on the South Atlantic in fact is a result of its appreciation of South-South relations. The methodology was worked through a revision of a variety of bibliography.O artigo busca compreender a importância do Atlântico Sul na política externa sul-africana pós-apartheid.
