This course provides an overview of international financial economics and open economy macro. Topics include gains from financial integration, determinants of exchange rates, macroeconomic policy and exchange rate regime choice. Furthermore, the course prepares students to investigate how societies and polities create and structure a market economy at the national and global levels. The aim is that students become familiar with the fundamental concepts and evolutions of debates surrounding financial aspects of international relations.
