7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl is an Unnatural Fluorescent Amino Acid (UFAA). UFAAs are important tools that allow biochemists to visualize proteins in living cells. The addition of an Unnatural Fluorescent Amino Acid makes any normally transparent proteins to glow in the dark. The synthesis of 7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl involved nucleophilic addition coupling reaction and deprotection of the initial Boc group. With the attempt of the coupling reaction, the product was verified as our desired product
