In current days, the search for alternatives to achieve a sustainable development at the scientific and industrial levels is becoming a pressing societal issue. In that sense, mechanochemistry is a promising area of science, in which mechanical energy is exploited to induce physical and chemical changes. Particularly, important from a sustainable point of view is the ability of mechanochemical techniques such as ball milling and extrusion to open the possibility to carry out mechanochemical reactions in the absence of bulk amounts of solvents and to achieve reactivity after short reaction times. Moreover, mechanochemical techniques have also permitted the exploration of dormant chemical pathways previously inaccessible in solution chemistry...
