Abstract: Circular reinforced concrete (RC) members are widely used in infrastructure systems, such as bridge piers and piles, contiguous pile walls, and fender piles in marine structures. This is due to the simplicity of construction and because their strength characteristics under lateral loads are similar in all directions. Such members are usually exposed to aggressive environments that corrode the steel reinforcement. The result is structure deterioration, leading to costly repairs and rehabilitation.
