[Extract] Achieving gender diversity and equality is currently an important goal for many STEM organisations in Australia. The 2011-2012 Annual Report of the organisation in this case study showed that of the 199 staff, 69 are women, representing around 35% of the workforce. The roles primarily filled by women are: research scientists (18); research support staff (20); and technical and corporate (31). At the time, there were no women in the Executive Team and they were arguably under-represented at the executive and higher management levles of the organisation
