[Extract] Dear Editor, Irukandji syndrome (IS) is a distressing syndrome experienced if stung by a variety of small (bell = 30 mm) jelly fish in (mainly) northern Australia, although there are reports from SE Asia, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, USA and The Caribbean. Treatment is mainly focused on pain relief. Anecdotal evidence has suggested relief in symptoms using magnesium i.v.,[1] although a small randomised controlled trial showed no benefit.[2] We report our experience in treating a patient suffering from IS with clonidine
