This paper investigates the outcomes of the systematic identification of the broad and complex factors influencing primary science program delivery at the classroom and school level. Using a validated, systematic evaluation tool, the Science Curriculum Implementation Questionnaire (SCIQ), both intrinsic and extrinsic factors influencing science program delivery are identified within a New Zealand primary school. Strategies for improving science curriculum delivery are identified and an evaluation of the SCIQ as an evaluative instrument are discussed
