This report is the result of the curricular internship concluded with the purpose of obtaining a Master's degree in Forensic Law and Arbitration, and held at the Civil and Commercial Arbitration Court (CIMA) located in Madrid, Spain. During the period from September 2018 to February 2019, in the scope of the internship mentioned, activities in support of the management of the arbitration proceedings of the secretariat were developed. The granting of prudential jurisdiction by the arbitral court is a recent phenomenon and, consequently, so is the creation of the emergency arbitrator. The emergency arbitration proceeding consists of a faster arbitration procedure, through which the parties can obtain precautionary measures before the arbitration tribunal is established, which, depending on the peculiarities of the particular case, may result in more efficient and economical protective custody. However, despite the massive incorporation of the emergency arbitrator into the regulations of the arbitration institutions, ignorance about the advantages and disadvantages of using this institute when compared to the state judicial process is a reality among professionals in the area. In this context, the main objective of this research is to present to the reader the institute of the emergency arbitrator, discussing its competence to order precautionary measures ante causum as well as on the emergency arbitration procedure itself, and discuss the feasibility of the enforcement of these interim measures in international arbitrations considering the consequences of the provisional nature and urgency inherent in the nature of these measures, the lack of coercive powers of the emergency arbitrators and the legal certainty and stability of the judicial decisions that are essential to the rule of law.O presente relatório é fruto do estágio curricular concluído com o propósito de obtenção do grau de Mestre em Direito Forense e Arbitragem, o qual foi realizado nas dependências da Corte Civil e Comercial de Arbitragem (CIMA), localizada em Madrid – Espanha. No período compreendido entre setembro de 2018 e fevereiro de 2019, no âmbito do referido estágio, foram desenvolvidas essencialmente atividades de apoio e suporte da secretaria na promoção dos atos de gestão do processo arbitral. A outorga de competência cautelar do tribunal arbitral é um fenômeno recente e, consequentemente, assim também o é a criação do árbitro de emergência. A arbitragem de emergência consiste em procedimento arbitral mais célere, através do qual as partes podem obter providências cautelares antes mesmo da constituição do tribunal arbitral o que, a depender das peculiaridades do caso em concreto, pode acarretar em tutela cautelar mais eficiente e econômica. Contudo, apesar da incorporação maciça do árbitro de emergência aos regulamentos das instituições arbitrais, a ignorância sobre as vantagens e desvantagens do uso deste instituto quando comparado ao processo judicial estadual é uma realidade entre os profissionais da área. Neste contexto, o objetivo precípuo desta pesquisa é estudar o instituto do árbitro de emergência, discorrendo sobre sua competência para decretar providências cautelares ante causum bem como sobre o procedimento arbitral de emergência em si, e discutir a viabilidade de execução destas medidas nas arbitragens internacionais, considerando os reflexos da provisoriedade e urgência inerente a natureza destas medidas, a ausência de poderes coercitivos dos árbitros de emergência e a segurança jurídica e a estabilidade das decisões jurisdicionais imprescindíveis ao próprio Estado de Direito
