Aim: Return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) elicits ischaemia/reperfusion injury and myocardial dysfunction. The combination of adenosine and lidocaine (AL, adenocaine) has been shown to (1) inhibit neutrophil inflammatory activation and (2) improve left ventricular function after ischaemia.
