The population dynamics of cephalopods are principally influenced by marked phenotypic plasticity in response to environmental factors, yet we have a poor understanding of how the life history characteristics of natural populations may alter over spatial or seasonal scales. The focus of this thesis is an examination of the variation in the life history traits of two closely related cephalopod species, Sepioteurhis lessoniana and S. australis, each from two divergent latitudinal zones along the east coast of Australia.
