The growing, milling and distribution of sugar in particular still plays a central role in the economic and cultural life of North Queensland. Sweet Crush recasts the found sounds and images of the sugar industry into a rhythmic assemblage that, rather than describe the activities of a sugar mill, gives an audio-visual encapsulation of that experience
