In this paper I examine the notion of Indigenous "success" in education, as this is the focus of my research. The paper begins with a brief consideration of the historical and social factors that may influence the positioning of Indigenous Australians within the academy and, ultimately, the "success" individuals are able to achieve. This is followed by an examination of the way in which the university, as an educational institution, encourages or hinders Indigenous "success". Having established the context for "success", I then explore the notion of "success" from the perspective of various stakeholders, followed by a brief discussion of the implications the diversity of views might have within the context of Indigenous achievement in h...
