L'Aurora Dopo Il Tramonto

'L’Aurora dopo il Tramonto (The Dawn After Sunset) is a book of creative writing and speculations that I call a ‘poetic manifesto’. It is divided into five chapters, each of which is written in a different literary form simultaneously focusing on epistemological questions. The first chapter is a novel, the second is the description of an ‘ambient’, the third is a theatre script, the fourth and the fifth are two long poems. The book was deeply inspired by my study and experience as a clinical psychologist, and in particular by W.R. Bion’s 'Memories from the Future'. I understand it as an initiation of travel through the world of creation and communication exploring the boundaries between the internal and external world. The book, which was researched and written over a long period, became a kaleidoscope of images and ideas, from which I have drawn most of the inspiration for my subsequent practice as an artist and theatre director. Many theatre works I have mounted in recent years in Europe and the U.S.A. have drawn directly on this book. It is at the core of my methodological focus with a constant feedback between text and physical theatre in my practice
