The University of Porto implemented a project for the use of e-portfolios in its academiccommunity. The main idea of this project was to use the e-portfolio as an assessment tool ofthe student learning journey and also show the importance of this reflective work for theircademic and professional life. The portfolio enabled the students to construct a structuredcollection of their knowledge, skills and competencies. The application to a case study inCivil Engineering and to the Learning Outcomes is presented
