The polymicrobial nature of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is now evident, withmixed bacterial-fungal biofilms colonizing the VAP endotracheal tube (ETT) surface. Themicrobial interplay within this infection may contribute for enhanced pathogenesis and exertimpact towards antimicrobial therapy.
