This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To compare individual active drugs (antidepressants, benzodiazepines and azapirones) and placebo in terms of efficacy and acceptability in the acute treatment of panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia.
