Unemployment in the Czechoslovak Republic in the early postwar years (1918- 1925)

The subject of the bachelor thesis is the question of unemployment during the first years of the Czechoslovak Republic, specifically it is the summer of 1918 to 1925. Introductory information about the history of unemployment in the Czech lands is followed by a representation of the economic and social situation of the First Czechoslovak Republic, along with demographic data. Next part is about solving of unemployment, including particular examples where the state put into practice legislative changes relating to the unemployed and tried to find solutions other than the payment of unemployment benefits. Included is the life situation of the unemployed, primarily the problems associated with this situation. One chapter is about the question of women at this time, because there was a significant change of their position in society. At the end of the thesis there is mentioned international cooperation in matters relating to unemployment benefits to citizens of other states, as well as the issue of the so-called "man of the world (světák) ".
