This bacelor thesis is about associations connected with colors in different cultures, focuses on differences in perception and use of colors and discribes the meaning of color for marketing purposes. The goal of this thesis is to provide answers for two questions. 1)Whether generally prefered or generally unpopular colors exist. 2)Whether the differences between associations connected with colors in various cultures exist. The first part of the thesis deals with not only physical but also psychological influence on an individual as a rule, covers the history of color and research by M. Lüsher.
