Czech-hungarian business cooperation with regards to cultural differences

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe Hungary not only from the economical and business point of view, but also from the point of view of cultural differences typical for this country. Knowledge of those cultural specifics might have a substantial significance for business relations. The work is divided into five chapters. First chapter provides a general description of Hungary and takes historical and political factors that might have influence on business into account. Second chapter presents economy of Hungary, macroeconomic and economic development and international trade. Third chapter follows with a description of the Czech-hungarian business relations. Cultural differences, business protocol and etiquette are the topics of the fourth chapter. Part of this chapter is also an analysis of cultural dimensions of Hungary by G. Hofstede, followed by a description of the Czech center in Budapest and an interview with a former director of this center. Finally, the last chapter is a practical part which assesses a survey. The conclusion provides a summary of the most important findings from the thesis and considers if Hungary might be a promising business partner for the Czech Republic
