The transformation of the Czech economy and its affect on foreign trade

Transformation of a central planned economy into a market economy is a difficult process that caused many changes in the social, political and economic sphere. In this period of time, state owned companies must have been privatized, the prices and foreign trade must have been liberalized, and the foreign trade policy must have been changed and adapted to the European standards. These fundamental changes reflected in the macroeconomic development of the Czech Republic and in the territorial and commodity structure of Czech foreign trade.
