Basic Income as an Instrument of Social Policy

The subject of this bachelor thesis is to describe and analyse the theoretical concept of basic income. Its primary goal is to provide financial security to all members of society and to improve the social and economic situation. While using approaches from normative economics, the work analyses and assesses the current social security scheme. Changes have been made to this scheme resulting in a new model of this system. The goal is achieved by the integration of basic income between other instruments while aiming to simplify and fairly distribute social benefits. The main limitation is financing of this new model which creates a deficit in the budget. Possible action towards dealing with this issue is highlighted in the end of the last chapter
