Voucher privatization in Czechoslovakia respectively in Czech republic

The thesis deals with the voucher privatization and privatization in general in the former Czechoslovakia and then the Czech Republic. All this after the Velvet Revolution in 1989. It is based on the hypothesis that the voucher privatization was successful privatization method in terms of speed and number of participating people and companies. The work is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the socio-historical context, the various theoretical concepts of privatization, including the method, which is crucial for the work and that is the method of voucher privatization. It also deals with investment mutual funds and the capital market. The second part uses theoretical concepts described in the first part. Subsequently, using comparative analysis is a comparison of theoretical knowledge and acquired data. In conclusion, the results are compared with the process of privatization in Poland and East Germany. This comparison leads to the conclusion that the voucher privatization in the Czech Republic was not as fast as was expected, but was successful in terms of amount of assets privatized by voucher privatization and the number of people involved in this process
