Status and Importance of Transport System in the Czech Republic from 1993 to the Present

This thesis analyses position of the Czech transport system and its importance for Czech economy and society. Based on conducted analysis and derived findings, this thesis highlights current problems and imperfections that adversely affect our transport system. In particular, these three are found the most serious ones: a weak harmonization of terms of transport between rail and road transport, an insufficient modal share and a need of fast completion and modernization of motorways and dual carriageways. Author's recommendations for a swift remedy of current imperfections, which limit the Czech transport system in its development, are propounded in the last part of the thesis
