This bachelor thesis is focused on identifying and assessing the influence of existing market with emission allowances on the economy of the Slovak Republic. Through analysis of each trading period established by the Emission Trading sys-tem of European Union (EU ETS) impacts on environmental and economic area in the country will be examined. The thesis is further studying the reach of this kind of business activity on chosen companies in the cement industry. Evaluation of regulatory measures, their implementation and the overall importance of the existence of the EU ETS will be accompanied by individual analysis carried out on national and intercompany level
