The topic of this graduation thesis is chair design. The thesis is split into theoretical and practical part. Firstly, the general examination of the history of sitting and the evolution of chair design is carried out via literature recherché. This search advances in current and prospective trends in chair design and its manufacture. The last theoretical chapter is focused on anthropometric, ergonomic, constructional, and safety requirements. Simultaneously, this chapter serves as a stepping stone for the practical part the goal of which is to fabricate a chair prototype. The design process goes through individual phases of creative work, inspirations, sketching, choosing the best solution, making of a 1:2 scale model, 3D visualization, and lastly realization of a prototype chair. The work concludes with discussion and critical assessment of the prototype
