This bachelor assignment deals with the representation of the wood, its functioncs and ways of gymnastic tool products processing. The assignment is devided into two parts, the historical ones, which includes an overview of gymnastic tool product assortment and used materials overview and design principles. In the historical part the summary of the former manufacturers is given, too. The second part of the assignment focuses on the current manufacturers of the gymnastic tools, on the current gymnastic tools overview and on the design principles and materials, which gymnastic tools where made from. It also deals with gymnastic tools development, mainly concerns on the substitute of wood by other materials in the range of traditional gymnastic tools
