Uplatnění dusíku a síry při pěstování červené odrůdy cibule kuchyňské (Allium Cepa L.)

The bachelor dissertation thesis entitled "Application of nitrogen and sulphur to the red variety of onion (Allium Cepa L.)" was carried out as a vegetation pot experiment. We assessed the combined application of sulphur (15.8-40-60 mg S-SO4 2-.kg-1) and nitrogen (0.6 and 1.2 g N per pot) on yields and quality of onion, variety Karmen. Onion yields increased with the applied rates of nitrogen on average by 22.8 %. By adding sulphur to nitrogen the yields were stimulated, on average, by a further 11.4-23.3 %. The content of nitrates in onions increased with the rates of nitrogen on average by 49.3%, but after the application of sulphur it decreased by 14-33%. The content of N, K, Ca and Mg was higher in the tops than in the bulbs. The contents of N and S in bulbs and tops increased with the applied rates. The N/S ratio increased with the rate of nitrogen, but narrowed after sulphur application to a desirable value below 8/1
