Diplomní projekt dotvoření vybraných urbánních prostorů

The subject of the diploma thesis is a study of the urban design of Old Morava river waterfront in Hodonin. The thesis is divided into 3 parts. The first part contains a literature research relating to the general design of urban waterfronts. The second part is aimed at the analysis of the area in terms of wider relations, functional use, natural conditions and a local history. The complex synthesis defines the main issues, current values and the basis for the design part. The design part is partly based on the analysis of the previous development as well as the historical context that became a source of inspiration when designing the waterfront area. It takes into account both the history of local fishing villages and the original direction of the Morava river. In general, the study aims to integrate the river into the life of the city, to connect the river with the surrounding countryside, to make both banks more accessible and more attractive for the functional as well as the recreational use
