The diploma thesis deals with the European grands and their influence on the development of tourist trade in the touristic area Jeseníky. The theoretical part is focused on the introduction of social and industrial cohesion policy, the explanation of all terms concerning this policy, its implements and programme documents. Furthermore requirements of application for European grants are hypothetically described. Last but not least terms from the tourist trade are explained. The practical part is concerned with the project Cross country skiing in the area Jeseníky. In this part there are analyzed three phases preparation, realization and operation. In the framework of these three steps the association Jeseníky tourism trade association which is introduced as the European grand applicant as well as the destination Jeseníky as the place for the realization of the project. On the basis of SWOT analysis of the area, another possibility for use European grands in the term 2014-2020 is suggested and that is the project that would be extension of the project Cross country skiing in the area Jeseníky
