This thesis deals with not only with the clock themselves, but also deals with the essence of time. This thesis is devided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of time, the origin of the observation and recording of time. In the first chapter we discuss the time in termes of philosophy, in order to understand this concept better. Next part passes through the historical development of the time and its measurement associated with the invention of clocks. Distribution of timekeepers according to the functional mechanism and the possibility of use. In conclusion, I refer to design and the independent development of the clock itself. The practical part focuses on the author´s own design of timekeepers
