Bachelor thesis describes the issue of biodegradable waste and the way it is treated. There is also described the possibility of secondary use and converting biodegradable waste into compost or some form of energy. The section focused on the composting process is more fully described, because it is the most widely used method of aerobic treatment of biodegradable waste. For an explanation The Central Composting Brno was chosen as an example of the practice. Composting works since 2007, its current capacity is 70 000.103 kg of bio waste and is located in the Brno - Modřice. It uses the technology with forced aeration and helps to return organic matter to the cycle of matter in nature. The output products are composted organic fertilizers Black Dragon, Green Dragon, and substrate Gray Dragon
