This bachelor thesis is focused on activities of multinational company Shell in Nigeria. The first part deals with the characteristics of multinational companies, their activities in development countries, criticism of multinational companies and the concept of social responsibility. It also describes the socio-economic situation in Nigeria and activities of Shell company. The second part focuses on the description of the situation in the Niger delta, especially the positive and negative impacts of the local activities of Shell company
