Toys are an important part of human life. In the modern world, it is the technical toy that plays the role of mediator between technology and technical information and the children´s world. The aim of this work is to evaluate and map the current toy market, focusing mainly on technical and construction toys. The theoretical part of the work begins by defining games, and toys and their classification, then examination of the classification and history of technical toys follows. After that, the toy market in the Czech Republic was mapped. In the practical part the impact of technical toys on children and adolescents was examined with regard to the development of technical thinking and the relationship to technology
