This bachelor thesis adresses the interpretation and comparison of three narrative texts of Anglophone literature, namely The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, Black Swan Green by David Mitchell and The Road by Cormac McCarthy, whilst focusing on child protagonist, his feelings and sentiments. This thesis aims to characterize alterations and reactions of a child which are caused by confrontations with his surroundings and the adult world and which he reflects through a child's eye. This characterization is subsequently confronted with the views of contemporary developmental psychology
