ACTIVATION of THE DEEP STABILIZATION SYSTEM for VERTEBROGENIC LOWER CROSSED SYNDROME PATIENTS

The topic of the thesis is the activation of the deep stabilization system for lower crossed sydrome patients. The deep stabilization system is a functional group of muscles responsible for the stability of the segments. The stability enables economical movements of body parts and locomotion. Right activation and timing of muscle groups forming global motion chains and co-contraction of antagonistic muscle groups is also essential. Early months of life are very important because these deep muscles start to operate and to set an ideal position of the spinal and the key joints, which allow organized motion, quadrupedal and later bipedal locomotion. Motor development is influenced by countless factors, therefore it is very common that little or bigger errors can develop and later cause functional problems of the locomotor system. One type of functional disorder is muscle imbalance problem in tonus of certain muscle groups. Usually on one hand the muscles are teak and on the other hand different muscles are too tense. In most cases the first sign of a problem is a chronic pain of locomotor system. Effective way of treatment is curing the cause of the problem with special methods of physiotherapy. The lower crossed syndrome is a muscle imbalance located in pelvis area distinguished by weak abdominal and gluteal muscles and tense hip flexors and spine extensors. The pelvis tilts forward causing lumbal hyperlordosis, the joints are in an undesirable position and of course sooner or later some pain appeal. Insufficient activity of the deep stabilization muscles is naturally part of the picture. This thesis theoretically describes the anatomy of the spine and the deep stabilization system, pins down stability and stabilization ideas, it mentions functional and structural disorders, it emphasizes an importance of the feet in locomotor system and it also describes possible examinations and means of physiotherapy for patients with lower crossed syndrome. The practical part of the thesis contains two particular casuistries with kineziological analysis before and after treatment, record of the therapy and a long term physiotherapy treatment proposal
