The thesis focuses on the potential and benefits of pastoral care in perinatal child loss. Discussion of the main topic of the work is preceded by a definition of perinatal child loss, information on Dead Foetus Syndrome, an introduction to new-born palliative care at neonatal intensive and resuscitative care units, as well as a reference to the experience parents go through in the death of their own child. A brief introduction of the field of practical theology is followed by the characteristics of clinical pastoral care and the potentials for its practical application.
