Life of blind children in the Czech republic

The bachelor thesis deals with the life of visually impaired children in the Czech Republic. The objective of this work is to provide basic information about the visual impairment and the role of the family in the integration of visually impaired children into society, which is demonstrated by a case study. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. Theoretical part is focused on visual impairments, their division, it provides overview of institutions dealing with care, support and education of visually handicapped, it mentions mobility aids, and finally it deals with the possibility of the integration of visually impaired children, especially the influence of the family in the whole process. Practical part is based on interviews with visually impaired children and their families. The research questions are aimed mainly to determine status, opportunities and possible obstacles in the integration of visually impaired children into society. The bachelor thesis is intended for general public, but may be also beneficial to social educators as guidance on this issue
