The School Maturity

The bachelor thesis deals with school maturity of children and is aimed at pre-school children at the age of 6 years or, if necessary, older. The aim of this thesis is to capture the differences between children who start a year later than they were supposed to and children who went to enrolment for the first time and present the reasons for postponing the start of the school attendance. The theoretical part focuses on the issue of maturity of pre-school children and also deals with their readiness for starting school. It also discusses the manifestation of immaturity and evaluates the readiness of children. The practical part is focused on qualitative research. As a method of gaining information I used observation, analysis of the creative activities and interview. Through observation and analysis of activity products are captured the differences between children. The reasons for the differences between children are also presented. The interviews finding the reasons for postponing of school attendance were held with these children's teachers
