The thesis deals with the current form and determinants of further development of the automotive industry and strategy of Hyundai Motor Company, the fastest growing automaker in the international markets of these days. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first one is devoted to recent development of the automotive industry with a closer focus on the main characteristics of the Czech market and mentions the major trends affecting the industry. Next part introduces HMC and analyzes the development of its position in the global automotive market.
