Transport dairy cows from a tethering to a free housing and aspect of their welfare.

This thesis is focused on the housing cattle with milk production. The aim of this study was to determine and evaluate selected indicators of welfare for the tethering and the free housing.The work was drawn from the data file, which contains information of 675 animals with dairy and dual purpose bred in two different types of farms. These farms are not connected together. Surveyed animals were purebred or hybrid with the representation of the breed in the blood from 50 to 100 %.According to the research and data collection it is clear that the tethering becomes unsatisfactory for all evaluated factors. Free housing clearly meets the conditions for the welfare of dairy cows
