Discussion about ethnic minorities on the example of Austria

The subject of the Bachelor thesis is to describe and assess the relationship of the Republic of Austria to the minorities, so called the indigenous minorities, which the Minority Act of 1976 defines. In the theoretical part the author will focus on legislative changes at the international and national level in relation to the protection of the ethnic minorities and she compares this minority politics with the Czech Republic. The practical part will be devoted to the brief historical background of each indigenous minorities, and at the same time the author will describe their current situation, their everyday problems - whether there is a fulfillment of their minority rights in everyday life. In conclusion, the author will outline and evaluate the expected development of this issue in the future from the acquired knowledge
