The role of primary and secondary prevention and its impact on reducing the occurence of teeth diseases of younger school age children

This bachelor thesis comprises of theoretical part which refers to anatomy and physiology of the oral cavity and informs of children periodontal diseases of oral cavity. Furthermore it deals with the pathogenesis of children dental caries and subsequent prevention and therapy of the dental caries. The primary and secondary prevention, which has big influence on reduction of dental apparatus diseases, is also included in the theoretical part. The primary prevention shows methodology and techniques of children tooth cleaning, the possibilities of fluoridation, and the right nutrition. The secondary prevention includes the hygienic and gingival indexes and CPITN index. The tools necessary for a dental hygiene have also been considered in this thesis. The practical part is focused on the awareness of younger school aged children in the area of primary prevention with the use of questionnaire method. An educational program was put together and training was made. The evaluated questionnaires were processed into graphs and tables along with the verbal commentary, which shows the awareness regarding the primary prevention of younger school aged children
