Effect of male unemployment on the family functioning

This thesis deals with problems of male unemployment nad its impact on the family. The aim is to describe and refer what impacts the loss of individual´s employment has on the family life. The thesis is devided into two parts ? theoretical and practical. In theoretical part I describe the unemployment, risk groups on the labour market, social and psychological consequences of unemployment, next I am devoting to the family, I characterize function of the family and function of individuals in the family, especially men. In the last section of the theoretical part I pay attention to the importance of work in man´s life. In the practical part I focus on the research and interpreting the results. The research group are men, who have their own families. The main research question is: What are the most serious consequences of male unemployment on family life? I found that the worst impact is considered to be the financial downturn and as a result more problematic is considered the presence of mental disorders
